STANDARD
REGISTER
Standard Register has chosen Wilcon
Corporation as its Design-Build partner for more than
200
projects. The first project, in 1980, was the design-build
of a bright, inviting corporate cafeteria.
Two decades (and 64 building projects!) later, Wilcon transformed
that dining space to accommodate a
larger employee population, and introduce design features
that enhanced both food presentation and
the flow of guests and workers. Notably, this “walls-in”
renovation was completed, from total demolition
to full re-opening, in just two weeks, thanks to the common
vision and purpose inherent in the
Design-Build philosophy.
Other notable Design-Build projects completed
for Standard Register include the corporate auditorium,
Manor House Training Center, and the expansion of the East
Wing. In the latter instance, 50,000 sq ft.
of press room was transformed into corporate offices and conference
areas. This important project
succeeded as a result of exceptional cooperation between plant
management, corporate engineers and
the design-build team representing the electrical, mechanical
and general trades.
On October 1, 2004, CMP Media’s
Information Week 500 announced that Standard Register had,
for the second
consecutive year, placed among the nation’s top 100
technology innovators, at #58 – just ahead of Lockheed
Martin
and Texas Instruments. Other notable companies on the InformationWeek
500 list include Dell, and HP.
